What if...
What if you were taken from the only people you really knew--even with all their problems--and promised a place to live with your own bed, new clothes, but you had to leave your friends, your clothes, your pillow, your pet (the only one who ever listened!), the food you like to eat, could you do it?
Maybe expecting kids... to appreciate what they are offered... is premature unless we first recognize all they have lost.
